EBA Regional Day

Ignite a Passion for Mission and New Christian Communities

Everyone Everywhere and the Eastern Baptist Association invite you to join us for a practical and inspiring day designed to encourage evangelism, church planting, and the development of new Christian communities. Taking place on Saturday 26 September, 10am to 4pm, at Barnwell Baptist Church, Cambridge, this Regional Day will bring together leaders, pioneers, and everyday disciples who long to see more people encounter Jesus in their communities.

Throughout the day you'll hear stories of what God is already doing, explore fresh approaches to mission, and discover practical ways to start and nurture new Christian communities. The programme includes worship, inspiring talks, table discussions, workshops, networking opportunities, and an optional community prayer walk.

As we’ve been praying for the event, the word ‘obscurity’ seemed to be significant. Barnwell could be described as a forgotten corner of Cambridge, but as you’ll hear on the day, being on the ‘margins’, and ministering alongside those who feel overlooked, is no barrier for a God who calls everyone, everywhere to be involved in his mission. The gospel of Jesus repeatedly shows God working through people and places that others dismiss. Nathanael's sceptical question in John 1:45 "Can anything good come out of Nazareth?" receives one of the simplest invitations in Scripture: "Come and see." We invite you to do the same!

Learn from practitioners and pioneers

We're delighted to welcome a range of speakers and workshop leaders who are actively engaged in pioneering mission.

Ruth Conlon is Senior Minister of Hornchurch Baptist Church, international speaker, author, and pioneer leader. Ruth has established new Christian communities, developed innovative approaches to mission and digital ministry, and is passionate about equipping ordinary Christians to live missionally wherever God has placed them. She will be leading "Rooted & Released: Formed by Jesus, Released for Mission", exploring how abiding in Jesus shapes disciples, strengthens leaders, and cultivates communities that multiply.

Mark Massey, Senior Minister at The Free in Frinton-on-Sea, will share insights from a recent journey that led a group from his congregation to develop a new expression of church in a neighbouring community. His experience offers an encouraging example of what can happen when churches are willing to step beyond familiar boundaries.

Kimberley Rayson, Community Pioneer at Arbury Road Baptist Church in Cambridge, works daily within the local community, seeking to share the hope and life of Jesus with those around her. Together with Simon Goddard, Pioneer Ambassador for the Baptist Union, Kimberley will lead a workshop on "How to Turn Outreach into New Worshipping Communities", helping participants think beyond events and programmes towards sustainable, discipleship-focused communities.

Chris Duffett, artist, evangelist, and Pioneer Enabler for the Eastern Baptist Association, has spent decades helping churches engage creatively with their communities. Chris will lead a workshop on"How to Use Our Creative Skills in Evangelism" and will also help facilitate an optional community prayer walk during the afternoon.

The day is being hosted by Barnwell Baptist Church, where local pioneers Catrin Horrex and Stuart Wood are helping to nurture mission both within the church and in newer communities such as Marleigh, a growing development on the eastern edge of Cambridge.
